OUR STORY
Established by the Mother Provincial of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Inc. (MPDMHCI), the Provincial Cooperation for Development Office (PCDO), registered and better known as the Mother Maddalena Morano Educational Foundation of Mary Help of Christians, Inc. (MMMEFMHCI), is a registered nonprofit organization in the Philippines, serving as the primary legal entity and local head of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
Inspired by the legacy of Maria Maddalena Morano, an Italian member of the Salesian Sisters, a lifelong educator and catechist, the foundation uses the Salesian Oratory model to engage with communities, address challenges, and foster innovative solutions.
Committed to the development of young people, especially girls and women, we have been delivering impactful programs and services across 17 FMA Communities in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea for decades. The FMA (Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice in Italian, or Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in English) is the official name of the Salesian Sisters, a congregation founded by Maria Domenica Mazzarello in 1872. Established to work alongside St. John Bosco and the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), the FMA now operates in 89 countries worldwide.

OVER THE YEARS
Communities have successfully organized Mothers’ Associations in their respective areas, equipping members with skills training and supporting them through income-generating activities to uplift families and strengthen communities. These initiatives create opportunities and drive meaningful change.
Over the past decades, MPDMHCI has prioritized providing technical and vocational skills training to marginalized women, leading to numerous documented success stories among its graduates.
- MPDMHCI's technical institutions have a 98% employment rate for graduates.
- Trainees and graduates show increased self-confidence.
- Employers praise trainees for their work knowledge, teamwork, and attitude.
- Graduates have contributed to increasing family income.
- Many graduates pursue higher education while working.
- Strong partnerships with businesses provide apprenticeships and job opportunities.
TODAY
The Mother Maddalena Morano Educational Foundation of Mary Help of Christians, Inc. (MMMEFMHCI) is still committed to planning, funding, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and harmonizing projects within these communities. Through our initiatives, we strive to advance the Congregation’s mission of empowering and uplifting young people, especially girls and women facing social and economic challenges.
